iPath

The Swiss Surgical Team (SST), in collaboration with the University of Basel and SDC as well as the Health Sciences University of Mongolia (HSUM), have been implementing a project of integrating telemedicine into their activities beginning in 2005. With the support of SDC the SST-project, aims to contribute to the improvement of health care services and to socio-economic development of Mongolia.

Prof. Dr. med. Martin Oberholzer, Extraordinarius für allgemeine und spezielle Pathologie am Basler Institut für Pathologie, erhält von der Health Sciences University of Mongolia die Ehrendoktorwürde. Zudem wird er mit dem Dr. Dora Seif-Preis 2008 ausgezeichnet. Beide Ehrungen würdigen Oberholzers Verdienste auf dem Gebiet der Telemedizin.
